Tourist destination in the Algerian South: New visa issuance measures

“It is brought to the attention of foreign tourists wishing to travel to southern Algeria that it has been decided to grant regularization visas upon their arrival instead of ordinary tourist visas.

This new measure concerns, exclusively, tourists traveling to Algeria as part of Saharan tourism through travel agencies approved by the Algerian Ministry of Tourism and Crafts.

The tourist program offered by approved travel agencies must include, at least, one (1) Wilaya, among the following twenty-four (24) Southern Wilayas:

Adrar, Laghouat, Biskra, Bechar, Tamanrasset, Djelfa, Msila, Ouargla, El-Bayad, Illizi, Tindouf, El Oued, Naama, Ghardaïa, Timimoune, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ouled Djellal, Béni-Abbes, Ain Salah, Ain Guezzam, Touggourt, Djanet, El M'Ghaiar, El Menia.

Approved travel agencies enter data relating to tourist visit programs and those of foreign tourists participating via a digital platform accessible to the Tourism Directorates of the Wilayas concerned.

Thus, foreign tourists are given a document by the approved travel agency of their choice allowing them to embark to southern Algeria.

The regularization visa is issued at international airports, land border crossings and ports for the benefit of groups of tourists temporarily passing through the north of the country, it being understood that the final destination of the tourist program is one of the 24 wilayas mentioned above. .

Tourists wishing to take a tourist trip to the above-mentioned localities are invited to contact approved travel agencies to inquire about registration procedures in the programs offered by the latter.

It remains understood that foreign tourists supported by approved travel agencies, traveling to other destinations or circuits other than the South, remain subject to the consular visa system.
