congratulation on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Algerian Glorious Revolution

Today, Algeria celebrates the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious liberation revolution. It is a memory of a long struggle that erupted on November 1, 1954, and was embraced by the Algerian people to culminate in independence and the restoration of national sovereignty.

On this occasion, His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador, Mr. Abdelhafidh Alahoum, in his name and on behalf of the entire embassy staff, extends his greetings to all members of the Algerian community in Hungary.

The "November 1 Revolution" was the last episode of the struggle initiated by the Algerian people against the brutal French colonialist crimes since 1830. It constituted a decisive turning point in history, becoming an example for people who still suffer from colonialism today.

Convinced that the language of arms was the only language that understood colonial power, the Algerian people, after a hard struggle and great sacrifices, defeated the most powerful colonial power. The immortal revolution of November 1st was a clear message to international public opinion, through which the Algerian people confirmed that what was happening in Algeria was an organized revolution and not a guerrilla war, as the French administration claimed.

Since then, the Algerian people have remained determined and still have the same spirit of sacrifice that they inherited from their ancestors, the mujahideen and martyrs, in defending their homeland and confronting all plots targeting its security, stability and unity.

In parallel with its aspirations for a better future, Algeria, which celebrates the seventieth anniversary of its glorious revolution, will remain committed to the principle of the right of colonized peoples to self-determination, independence, and justice. Algeria will remain also committed to its glorious memory, no matter how extremist circles try to falsify it or relegate it to the shelves of oblivion.

Long live, free and proud Algeria. Glory and immortality to our faithful Martyrs
