Commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance on the 80th Anniversary of the 8 May 1945 Massacres

The Embassy of Algeria in Budapest commemorated the National Day of Remembrance, marking the 80th anniversary of the 8 May 1945 massacres, under the theme: "A Day of Remembrance... A Witnessed Day for a Desired Era", in the presence of the Embassy staff and some of our dear community members present at the mission.
On this occasion, the national anthem was played, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha and a minute of silence in tribute to our valiant martyrs.
His Excellency the Ambassador delivered a speech in which he recalled the tremendous sacrifices of the Algerian people in their resistance against the brutal colonial machinery that committed heinous crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity in modern history, resulting in the death of more than 45,000 martyrs for freedom and independence.
He also emphasized the importance of preserving and upholding national memory and passing it on to current and future generations, as a sign of loyalty to the message and trust of our martyrs and as a solid foundation to continue the path of building and strengthening a proud and victorious Algeria.
Long live Algeria
Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs
