The Embassy of Algeria in Hungary commemorated today the 64th anniversary of the December 11, 1960 demonstrations. On this occasion, the national flag was raised to the rhythm of the national anthem, and the Fatiha from the Holy Qur’an was recited in honor of the memory of our valiant martyrs.
His Excellency, the Ambassador of Algeria to Hungary, Mr. Abdelhafid Allahem, delivered a speech in which he highlighted the significance of this pivotal historical milestone in Algeria’s history. He recalled how the Algerian people took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to affirm their right to self-determination and their absolute rejection of colonialism. This moment played a key role in internationalizing the Algerian cause as a decolonization issue.
